Here is Amir Tsarfati explaining why Christians today should support Israel based on the Scriptures. It doesn’t mean we support everything that Israel does. It means we acknowledge that Israel is God’s chosen covenant people, and He still has a purpose for her in the end times. Remember, Jesus didn’t agree with everything that Israel did during his ministry on earth. He even rebuked the Pharisees for being hypocrites, and called them the children of the devil. He called them out saying, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies” (Jn.8:44). Remember, God the Father also condemned the people of Israel over and over because of their sinfulness and sent His prophets to speak against them. In the end, He sent the whole nation into exile at the hands of the Babylonians, did not give them a national identity even after their return. We would not accuse God the Father and God the Son as antisemite, would we? According to Revelation 12:17, Israel and her offspring is and always will be object of hatred for the devil. It says, “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.” As it is, Satan has extreme hatred for Israel and everyone who holds to the testimony of Jesus and is at war with them. As Christians, we do not have to support everything Israel does, but we must continue to support her as God’s servant and instrument because He is not done with her. The Bible says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you” (Ps.122:6). Let these words encourage us all the more to pray for peace in the city of God.
