WHAT IS WORD-CENTERED LIVING?
In retrospect, my life as a young man seemed like a boat on a sea being tossed about by the wind and waves of life. Going no particular direction, doing what I thought was cool, and seemingly happy with what I had. Not standing for anything, I was falling for everything. Some adults and peers often criticized me for living such a meaningless life, but what they were doing in their life didn’t make much sense to me either. They studied hard, worked every day, and prepared for a secured future. Bottom line is that everyone wanted to be happy and enjoy life. I just didn’t want to wait until I became old to have it. It wasn’t until I discovered the truth in the Bible that I began to live with a purpose. It became a source of hope, power, and wisdom that I needed to guide my boat through the sea of life. The Word to me is the true compass of life and it will help me navigate my life to the true north—abundant life in God.
The Word-centered living comes out of my personal philosophy of life based on my personal life experiences, understanding of the Bible, and interactions with mature thinkers I have had the pleasure to meet. In essence, the Word (logos) can be understood in three different but interconnected meaning. First, there is the written word, the Bible. Second, there is the living word, Jesus Christ. Third, there is the spoken word, which is the Spirit-led uttering of believers. They are different concepts but speaks of the same essence—the living and abiding Word of God. The Bible says, “You have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God. For, ‘All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the Word of the Lord abides forever'” (1 Pet.1:23-25). The Word-centered living is, then, nothing more than living in personal relationship with the living Word, based on the written Word, and lived out in the spoken Word. There are many “words” out there in the world. Every one of them promises some kind of benefit—better health, better income, better self, better things, better afterlife, better relationships, and better entertainment. These voices all cry out for our attention, but I believe that only one voice has proven itself to be timeless and effective. You don’t need people to tell you these things. Read and experience it for yourself and see if it’s not true. I have made the Word the center of my life and I have not been disappointed. I invite you to transform your life’s journey by living a Word-centered living.

Great encouragement. I was really down yesterday and I found your website. It lifted me up. I struggle because I stand up for the Lord and I am proud of it, but I am about to lose everything and it ok.
Lord God, may you bless Ciro. May you establish his steps and delight in his way. When he is staggering or stumbling in life, do not let him fall down but hold him up with your righteous right hand.
