Lord, I weep not because a young man died who had a great future and potential, but of his conviction that his love for you meant more to him than his life of happiness in this life. The best and greatest sacrifice that we can give to Christ is our youthfulness as living sacrifices and not the leftover from the life we live for ourselves. Did not the Son of God model this for us by offering up his life for us? I also weep and pray wondering if there are any young people out there who will say, “Lord, I give my youth to you, and You can do whatever you want with it. All that I am, all that I have, all that I ever hope to be, I give it all to You.”

“I believe that the measure of success in the kingdom of God is obedience. I want my life to reflect obedience to Christ and to live in obedience to Him.” (John Chau)

“Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.” (Prophet Samuel, 1 Sam.15:22, NASB)

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.” (Jesus, Jn.14:23-24, NASB)
